My Daily Smoothie - The Why and The How

I'm guessing when people in my life think about smoothies, there is a good chance they think of me :-) I have always gotten tons of questions about it and have written the recipe on napkins and in countless text messages so I thought I would share! Link to recipe sheet at the end!


Anyone who knows me well knows that this is one of my core lifestyle practices that helps me keep it all together. By this, I mean that I make it happen no matter what most days and my body thanks me for it!


My smoothie, as a part of my primarily whole foods nutrient dense way of eating, and other core lifestyle habits, allow me to have great energy all day for work and play, keep a pretty positive mood (of course there are so many factors with that haha), rarely think about food and be in control of my weight. Now don't get me wrong, life happens to me just like everyone else. There are always ups and downs but when all else seems out of control or even if my health gets away from me, my key health habits help me keep it together. After all, our health is at the core of everything. When we are not feeling or functioning our best, it is feels impossible to show up fully in other areas of our lives.

I should also mention the reason that I am able to make my smoothie happen every day is that I have created a system around it that works without me having to think too much about it. All of the steps are now habits including having a set time to go to the grocery store each week, having an app where I keep my grocery list (but I can usually do it by memory at this point), keeping my smoothie ingredients and tools in the same places all of the time so I don't have to look for them and continually making improvements to the system to make it more efficient whenever possible.
